At Cemflo, building and construction is part of our heritage
As a family with a lifetime in the building trade we have managed and built many bespoke developments. Damon Eastwood is a bricklayer by trade and worked for over 10 years alongside his father in the construction industry. During this time, he employed, trained and managed a team of brickwork specialists.
Damon went on to become the Construction Director for Charleswood Homes. A local company building select, high specification, bespoke homes. Delivering a range of projects, he organised and coordinated all aspects of the building works. Each element was planned to ensure the required materials, as well as the skilled tradesmen were on site at the right time.
Cemflo was founded because we are passionate about new innovations that can transform key elements in the building process. Being an advocate of cement-based screeds, this is definitely an area we are passionate about. Cemfloor is a new type of product and has many benefits for anybody involved in the building trade.
As a registered AA Cemfloor installer, Cemflo are trained specialists in applying the product. We only work with approved suppliers who are ISO9001 accredited and who will source local materials. They will mix and thoroughly test the product before delivery to us. This is a vital part of the process because unlike other cement-based screeds, Cemfloor is self-compacting.
A product to transform the building trade
Cemfloor is the latest in cement-based screeds that will reduce the timescales on any building project. The quality and integrity of this product will deliver a step change for the building trade. Recently introduced to the UK, the company behind the product has over 15 years’ experience in the liquid screed industry.
As a cement-based product it should only be installed by Cemfloor approved contractors. It has free flowing properties to ensure a high quality installation. At the same time, there are none of the challenges associated with other flowing screeds, such as the need to remove surface laitance. If you also include compatibility with any surface adhesives and quicker drying times, you can understand why this product has so much to offer.
What are the benefits of Cemfloor?
- It will cover a larger floor area without joints – up to 150m2
- You can install up to 1000m2 per day saving you time and money
- Compared to traditional screeds it can be applied in thinner sections
- A reduced drying time compared to other screeds
- After 7 days it can be force dried
- Drying shrinkage has been minimized to <0.5%
- It can be applied in wet areas
- You can walk on the floor after 24 – 48 hours
- If you have a floor covering that is sensitive to moisture, these can be applied when the screed has dried to <2.5%CM moisture content
- There are no surface laitance after curing which means no sanding is needed before applying your floor covering
- Compatible with any cement-based adhesives
- Surface primers and sealers are not needed before applying adhesives to the screed
If you are installing an underfloor heating system, Cemfloor has some additional benefits
- It is self-compacting which means there will be no voids around the underfloor heating pipes
- Over the pipes you can lay a thinner screed allowing a minimum 25mm above the pipes
- Your running costs will be lower because of the thermal conductivity properties of up to 2.9W/mk
